PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber interference type sensor using a Sagnac type interferometer, capable of detecting a disturbance applied to an optical fiber loop with high sensitivity, whatever the installation form of the optical fiber loop may be. SOLUTION: In this optical fiber interference type sensor provided with a light source, a photobranching and photocoupling element, a loop-like optical fiber, and a light receiving element, wherein the light emitted from the light source is branched by the photobranching and photocoupling element, to be propagated clockwise and anticlockise directions around an inside of the loop-like optical fiber and to be photocoupled again by the photobranching and photocoupling element, so as to be made incident thereafter in the light-receiving element, one portion of the looplike optical fiber is constituted of an optical fiber different in a light propagation mode from other portion.
