PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the contact stability of brushes and obtain sufficient folding strength. SOLUTION: Pairs of positive and negative plate-like brushes in the same shape, cut out from a hoop material F so that a large number of pairs are coupled with one another at predetermined pitches are placed on brush bases 2 so formed that they are coupled with one another with the identical pitch. At least their sliding portions 1a are formed of noble metal containing silver platinum. They are brought into slidable contact with a commutator S. At least the sliding portions are folded between the sliding portions and a base at an angle of 30°to 90°to the direction of a roll with the direction of the roll substantially matched with the direction of rotational sliding.
