PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a liquid crystal composition which retains a high anisotropy in refractive index, is excellent in light fastness and has a low drive voltage, a high nematic-isotropic phase transition temperature and a nematic phase which is stable at a low temperature, and to provide a liquid crystal display element using the liquid crystal composition and a liquid crystal display device using the liquid crystal display element. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal composition is provided by preparing the liquid crystal composition containing 50-80 mass% compound of formula (I), 10-30 mass% compound of formula (II) and 5-30 mass% compound of formula (III).
