<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording material having high sensitivity, good in highlighting, excellent in reproducibility of dots and thin lines, and capable of maintaining highlighting without lowering sensitivity even when a plate is stored over a prolonged period of time. <P>SOLUTION: The image recording material has on a support a photosensitive layer containing: (a) an addition polymerizable compound having an ethylenically unsaturated double bond as well as at least one photooxidizable group, or an addition polymerizable compound having an ethylenically unsaturated double bond obtained by reacting a polyepoxy compound with a (meth)acrylate having a hydroxyl group or a carboxyl group; (b) an organic linear polymeric binder; (c) a polymerization initiator; (d) a sensitizing dye; and (e) a compound having a sulfur atom and a carboxyl group within a molecule and having a molecular weight of ≤300. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
