PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem wherein abnormality in water quality is continuously detected to cause a malfunction, since the generation of a shift in an imaging device, contamination in a water tank and water, or the like can not be detected in a conventional technique even when it is generated. SOLUTION: In this system of the present invention for determining the abnormality in water quality, a reference substance photographed by the imaging device is provided in the water tank, an image monitor has a function for determining the abnormality in the water quality, when a photographed condition of a living organism in the water tank is brought into a preset condition in the abnormality of the water quality of the living organism. The abnormality in the water quality is detected, while taking the abnormality caused by the shift in the imaging device, the contamination in the water tank and the tested water, or the like, into account, in the present invention.
