PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distortion correcting circuit capable of performing distortion correction at a high speed by simplifying operation for the distortion correction. SOLUTION: In the distortion correcting circuit 1, a post-image address generating means 2 generates the horizontal and vertical address of a corrected image data, and a correction pixel interval coefficient corresponding to the address is read from a correction pixel interval storage means 3. In a pro-correction image address generating means 4, the address of an image before correction is calculated using the address and the correction pixel interval value. Image data before correction are stored in a pro-correction image storage means 5, and the image data corresponding to the address of the means 4 are read from the means 5. A pixel data operating means 6 performs operation for generating image data after correction, and the image data as a result of operation are stored in post-correction image storage means 7.
