<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop no drastic stagnation of a printing work even if error develops in some part of a unit in an ID card printer and, in addition, make it possible to easily re-start the printing work. <P>SOLUTION: Card materials taken one by one out of card cassettes 71 are printed at printing parts 72a-72d of respective colors (yellow Y, magenta M, cyan C and black B) by colors in the order named so as to execute a color print of a photograph of his or her face or the like and to print character information such as an address, a full name or the like with black B. In this case, when errors such as the insufficient residual quantities of various expendables, jams or the like develop, processing is carried forward in sequence in units at the downstream side from a unit, at which the error has developed, while cards are made on standby when the processings of each unit come to their ends at the upstream side of the unit, at which the error has developed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
