PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device capable of surely executing data reading or writing by a stable servo without degrading a data quality while maintaining a high speed performance during the data reading or writing. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a control means 50 for controlling the gain of the servo loop of a signal exceeding thresholds FV and TV to increase when the amplitude of a focus error signal FE and the amplitude of a tracking error signal TE are compared with the predetermined threshold values FV and TV, and it is detected that at least one of the focus error signal FE and the tracking error signal TE exceeds one of the threshold values FV and TV, and controlling the gain of the servo loop to return to an original value when it is detected that the amplitude of the signal exceeding one of the threshold values VF and TV is converged within the threshold value.
