PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make users accurately recognize guidance directions in a route guidance apparatus using stimuli such as vibrations. SOLUTION: A cellular phone 200 as the route guidance apparatus has a vibrating mechanism 210 having an amplitude and a frequency variable in multiple stages. When a user arrives at a branch point C at which branch roads R1-R3 intersect one another, a guidance control part 220 vibrates the vibrating mechanism 210 at a frequency corresponding to a direction in which the user is to be guided. When the user changes the orientation of the cellular phone 200, its amplitude is increased when the cellular phone 200 faces in a correct guidance direction, and its amplitude is reduced when the cellular phone 200 faces in an incorrect branch road.
