<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve balance of backlight by a hollow system. <P>SOLUTION: An HID lamp 3 which emits light is arranged at the edge side end of a reflection means 4 for reflecting the light. This reflection means 4 has a high reflexible film 4a at a location near the HID lamp 3 and a diffusion reflecting sheet 4b at a location far away from it. Then, diffusion plates 7 for emitting the reflected light are arranged opposed to each other through the reflection means 4 and a hollow region 6. Thereby, in the reflection means 4 near the HID lamp, the light after reflection is reflected up to the diffusion plate 7 far away from the HID lamp. That is, the amount of emitted light is suppressed at the light emitting face of the backlight near the HID lamp 3, and the amount of emitted light at the light emitting face far away from the lamp is increased, and balance of light is improved thereby. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
