PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound having an excellent electron transport ability useful for applications of an electrophotographic photoreceptor and a positively charged type electrophotographic photoreceptor for highly sensitive copiers and printers and to provide an electrophotographic apparatus using the same. SOLUTION: The new quinone compound has a structure represented by general formula (I) (wherein, R<SP>1</SP>to R<SP>4</SP>are each the same or different and denote each a hydrogen atom or a 1-6C alkyl group which may have a substituent; R<SP>5</SP>and R<SP>6</SP>are each the same or different and denote each a hydrogen atom, a 1-6C alkyl group which may have a substituent, an aryl group which may have a substituent or a heterocyclic group which may have a substituent; and the substituent denotes a fluorine atom, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group, a fluorinated alkyl group, an aryl group or a heterocyclic group).
