PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means and a method for installing error correction codes of an appropriate system into a storage device while allowing for the purpose of using the storage device and the level of defects in terms of manufacture. SOLUTION: A system 90 for constituting a solid storage device comprises the solid storage device 102 and an error correction code (ECC) selection system 100. The ECC selection system is adapted to automatically select a set of error correction codes on the basis of the error rate of the storage device.
