GAS SENSOR, GAS SENSOR UNIT, AND FRESHNESS HOLDING DEVICE USING IT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein the sensitivity of a gas responding body becomes easy to lower because gas is hard to arrive at the surface of the gas sensor when a protective layer is formed on the gas responding body in order to enhance the humidity resistance of the sensor and moisture absorbed by the protective layer is hard to discharge in a high humidity state and the deterioration of the gas responding body due to adsorbed moisture is easy to cause.

SOLUTION: The gas sensor is manufactured by forming a protective layer 1 comprising a porous protective material subjected to hydrophobic treatment on the gas responding body in order to ensure high sensitivity and high reliability at the same time. The sensitivity of the gas sensor is enhanced by making the protective layer 1 porous and the high reliability of the gas sensor can be realized by enhancing humidity resistance by subjecting the protective layer 1 to hydrophobic treatment.
