PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collision judging device capable of contributing to improvement of accuracy for judging collision. SOLUTION: A controller 40 judges whether a stress detecting sensor 30 is in a condition for enabling normal detection or not based on direct waves. The direct waves directly received by a car-outside structure without reflection are received at approximately constant characteristics unless a positional relationship between an ultrasonic transmitter 10 and an ultrasonic receiver 20 varies. Therefore, loss of constant characteristics of the received direct waves means that deformation occurs at an installation position of the ultrasonic receiver 20, and that deformation also occurs at an installation position of the stress detection sensor 30 installed near it. Then, deformation means that the stress detection sensor 30 is in a condition incapable of performing normal detection due to residual stress and the like.
