摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that it is necessary to increase the size of a recording medium so as to increase a recording capacity with the same recording method for a conventional disk-shaped recording medium such as an optical disk, for example, a CD and a DVD, and peripheral equipment for recording and reproduction is consequently made to be large in size; to provide a large-capacity optical memory device. <P>SOLUTION: The optical memory device is provided with a near field optical tape, which is a tape-shaped deformable recording medium, and a reproducing means which reproduces recorded information stored to the near field optical tape. In addition, the optical memory device is provided with; a near field optical head which is arranged so that it may contact the near field optical tape, generates near field light and irradiates the micro-area of the near field optical tape with the generated near field light; a lighting unit which condenses light emitted from a light source and makes the light incident on the near field optical head; and a light detection device which is located on the opposite side to the near field optical head across the near field optical tape and detects transmitted light/scattered light from the near field optical tape. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
