PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a code plate for encoder capable of detecting an absolute position with high resolution and manufacturing method and the like for its die. SOLUTION: The code plate for encoder is provided with a first track constituted of a transparent base plate, a V-shape part with V-shape cross section and reflecting light and a flat part transmitting light placed on the surface of the transparent base plate and having a first pattern of which the pitch between the V-shape parts varies along the direction perpendicular to the V-shape part, and a second track constituted of a V-shape part with V-shape cross section and reflecting light and a flat part transmitting light placed on the surface of the transparent base plate and having a second pattern of which the pitch between the V-shape parts is constant along the direction perpendicular to the V-shape part.
