PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection device for inspecting the display panel of a display device, facilitating inspection and reducing the manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: This inspection device 1 is equipped with a device body 10 for supporting a liquid crystal display panel 2, and a backlight 11 provided on the device body 10, and constituted so as to inspect the liquid crystal display panel 2, by transmitting light from the backlight 11 through the liquid crystal display panel 2. The device body 10 is detachably provided with a pallet 12, where the liquid crystal display panel 2 is mounted. The pallet 12 is equipped with a transmission part 40 for transmitting the light from the backlight 11. An ID pattern 13, for discriminating the liquid crystal display panel 2, is formed on the liquid crystal display panel 2.
