<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing system, which calculates the number of paper sheets to be actually printed based on printing data and printing configuration of a printer driver and displays them on a preview screen when printing, and further displays weight and thickness of printed matters to improve efficiency in printing operations and management operations of printed matters, and printing processing programs. <P>SOLUTION: The printing system, in which client PCs and printers are connected, stores weight and thickness of a sheet of paper for every paper size in a PC, and calculates thickness and weight of printed matters using paper size in printing configuration and the number of paper sheets to be actually printed to display them on a preview screen. This allows users to know thickness and weight of printed matters before printing. In addition, weight/thickness of the sheet of paper that is set in each feeding tray may also be stored in a printer.
