<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus, capable of appropriately preventing color slurring caused by the mutual phase shift of a plurality of photoreceptors, disposed along an intermediate transfer belt. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 1 is provided with a driven gear, meshed with the driving gears of the rotary shafts of respective photoreceptor driving motors 62 and 63, and fillers 65 and 66 detected by sensors 67 and 68 on the rotary shafts of the photoreceptors 30C and 30Bk directly driven by the motors 62 and 63. When the photoreceptors 30Y to 30Bk are to be started for rotation, phase matching between the rotary shafts of the photoreceptors 30C and 30Bk is performed by the time the motors 62 and 63 attain normal rotation, by successively increasing the revolving speed of the motors 62 and 63 based on the result of detection by the sensors 67 and 68, whereby the color slurring of the formed image is prevented appropriately and in a short time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
