<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain fogging caused by developer flying, in a developer transport process by traveling-wave electric field. <P>SOLUTION: The development device 4 developing an electrostatic latent image formed on an image carrier (photoreceptor drum 1) is equipped with a developer transporting member 41, having a plurality of electrodes 41b arrayed at prescribed intervals on a base material and transporting the developer T toward the image carrier 1 by the traveling-wave electric field formed, by applying polyphase AC voltage to the electrodes 41b. By providing an auxiliary recovery member 201 recovering the developer, which does not contribute to the development of the electrostatic latent image on a side, before the developer transported by the traveling-wave electric field reaches the image carrier in the transport process, fogging of the developer is reduced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
