MONITORING SYSTEM, AND METHOD FOR MONITORING ENVIRONMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily perform summary and indexing in order to search a video image for specific serious event. SOLUTION: A monitoring system is provided with an event detector mounted in an environment, and an ultrasound generator coupled to the event detector. The ultrasound generator emits an ultrasound signal in response to the event detector for detecting an event in the environment. A camera acquires a visual signal of the environment, and a microphone acquires the ultrasound signal. Both of the visual signal and the ultrasound signal are recorded on storage media for subsequent searching and indexing.
