PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile communication equipment where the decision of off-hook is carried out even when line voltage is not constant. SOLUTION: The line voltage V<SB>k</SB>connected with the facsimile communication equipment is measured n times (step S604), and the average voltage V<SB>av</SB>of respective measurement results is calculated (step S701). The calculated average voltage V<SB>av</SB>is compared with reference voltage V<SB>th</SB>for deciding off-hook set in advance (step S702). When the average voltage V<SB>av</SB>is lower than the reference voltage V<SB>th</SB>in this case, it is decided that the line is off-hook (step S607). When the average voltage V<SB>av</SB>is higher than the reference voltage V<SB>th</SB>, it is decided that the line is used presently (step S606/NO). COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
