PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microarray for detecting biological substances, for which a gelatinous material formed in a hollow part of a hollow fiber has no recessions or cavities. SOLUTION: The physical properties of the hollow fiber to be used for the microarray for detecting biological substances are imparted water vapor permeability suppression and oxygen permeability suppression. More specifically, the hollow fiber is made of an organic material having coefficient of water vapor permeability of 250×10<SP>-13</SP>or lower and a coefficient of oxygen permeability of 0.3×10<SP>-13</SP>or lower, preferably polyvinyl alcohol, a copolymer containing polyvinyl alcohol, or an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer.
