PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance visibility of time character on a dial plate of a watch with a solar cell. SOLUTION: The dial plate 30 for the watch provided on the solar cell is formed such that in the region where the time characters 34 are provided on the transparent substrate 31 of the dial plate, the nonpermeable film layer 33 are provided. On the nonpermeable film layer 33 at the prescribed position, the time characters 34 having a complementary relational color or nearly complementary relational color with the color of nonpermeable film layer 33 are provided. Between the time characters 34 and the nonpermeable layer 33, the nonreflective film layer 35 etc., are provided. Because the color of the nonpermeable film layer 33 and the color of the time characters 34 are in complementary relation or in nearly complementary relation, the time characters 34 are clearly visible.
