PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method capable of effectively preventing the turn of a tab with respect to a rivet in a can lid having a stay-on tab. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing a can lid having a stay-on tab is provided with: a tab placing step of placing the tab on a can lid body by fitting a tab hole of a diameter smaller than the outer diameter of a projecting part for a rivet to the projecting part; a pre-stake step of performing the temporary caulking by pressing the tab to the root of the projecting part for the rivet by using a stake punch and a bushing of smaller inner diameter after the tab placing step; and a stake step of performing the final caulking by forming the rivet by using the stake punch and a bushing of the inner diameter larger than that of the bushing used in the pre-stake step after the pre-stake step.
