PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the shape of inner embroidering data so as to enable generating embroidery data with high quality by providing the processor with a thin line tracking means for tracking the thin line of a converted thin line image and a branch erasing means for erasing a branch when the branch exists in thin line tracking. SOLUTION: A pattern original read by an image scanner is stored as binary bit map image data, thin line conversion-processed, vector conversion-processed and stored. For example, the area of a 'cat face' is provided with inner contour lines 1 and 2 and an outer contour line 3, converted into vector data by following its route and stored in a route storage area. Branching is executed after following from an upper part in the part B of the outer contour line 3. The route from an image element 1 to the image element 3 becomes a→b→c→d. Since arrows c and d are different from the ones a and b in a direction by 180 deg., the part of the arrows a-d is erased from the route storage area. Thus, embroidery data is generated from the vector data. |
