PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid ink melting device of an ink loading device of a phase change ink printer. SOLUTION: A drip plate 29 as a part of a melt plate assembly at the phase change inkjet printer which uses a solid ink includes a flat upper part 78 with an upper first face and an upper second face at both sides, and a flat pointed lower part 74 with a lower first face and a second face at both sides. The lower part is not on the same plane as the upper part. The drip plate can be fixed to a melt plate 60.
