<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small power generation system capable of supplying a short circuit current effectively. <P>SOLUTION: In the power generation system where a generator controlled by a field system of a generator voltage regulator is connected with a power system through a frequency converter, a short circuit current required for interrupting a circuit breaker at the upper position of a short circuit point is fed upon the occurrence of a short circuit fault on the power system. Since an output from the frequency converter can be adjusted so that the frequency converter is not overloaded with the short circuit current flowing from the generator through the frequency converter, the short circuit current required for interrupting the circuit breaker can be fed from the generator through the frequency converter without relying upon a phase regulator when the system is short-circuited. Consequently, the circuit breaker can be interrupted positively while contributing to reduction in the size of the power generation system. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
