PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal development apparatus which prevents production of an irregular black stripe as a visible image defect even when the peripheral velocity differs between a downstream side roller and an upstream side roller. SOLUTION: The thermal development apparatus functions to expose a thermal developing recording material containing a thermal developing photosensitive material or a photosensitive thermosensitive recording material to light in an image exposing section to form a latent image, and to heat the latent image in a developing section to develop the image. The image exposing section employs a sub-scanning system including a plate type guide plate disposed in one side of the thermal developing recording material over the carrying passage, and two driving rollers disposed in the other side of the recording material, with the axial line of each roller almost parallel to the carrying passage and crossing approximately orthogonal to the carrying direction. The peripheral velocity of the downstream side roller in the above two driving rollers is increased by <0.5% than that of the upstream side roller. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
