PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an iris control unit for preventing conveniences, such as the hunting of an iris, by nonlinearly amplifying an inputted video signal by a preamplifier for clamping and amplifying the video signal. SOLUTION: The preamplifier 18 comprises a clamping circuit 30, a non-inverted amplification circuit 32, a nonlinear output conversion circuit 34, and the like.
