CERAMIC DIAPHRAGM FOR ELECTROLYSIS AND ITS PRODUCTION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ion exchange diaphragm with large dimension corresponding to the utilization of an electrolytic unit with various diaphragm shapes at a homogeneous and high dimensional precision.

SOLUTION: The ceramic diaphragm for electrolysis is characterized in that ceramic obtained by granularly burning clay mineral or ceramic obtained by granularly crushing burnt ceramic is bound with a water soluble polymer of 5 to 100 pts.wt. to 100 pts.wt. of the ceramic, and is dried by a frame mold with a flat surface or a curved surface. The production method includes: a ceramic working stage; a water soluble polymer material feeding stage; a ceramic bind material kneading stage; a dry forming stage; and a diaphragm edge part machining stage.
