<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To fit for large dynamic head lifting and uniformly disperse the load in the circumferential direction in the periphery of an opening by reducing bore distortion and recessed deformation of a liner to overcome the disadvantages of the prior art. <P>SOLUTION: This sealing gasket assembly includes one or more carriers each having an offset flexible stopper part spaced laterally outwardly away from an offset inner sealing portion that is adjacent an opening or other areas requiring sealing between mating members adapted to be clamped together. An optional shim can be disposed in alignment with or adjacent to the carrier. An elastic sealing material is made to adhere to at least a portion of the carrier and/or shim by screen printing or the like. The gasket is advantageously used for a cylinder head, a cylinder block, an intake manifold, an exhaust manifold, piping and the other fluid conveying devices, which have the possibility that relative movement is caused between the members to be mutually sealed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
