PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system 10 for generally reflecting a luminous flux 30 to an observation point R. SOLUTION: The system consists of two concave reflectors 12 and 16. Also, the system for refracting the luminous fluxes by two convex refractors 31 and 32 in the direction of the observation point is also described. The reflectors 12 and 16 have bending axes 14 and 18, which bend in one direction and intersect particularly at a right angle at a distant location. The refractors 31 and 32 have the bending axes 14 and 18 which are a convex shape bent in one direction and intersect particularly at right angles at the distant location. The first reflector reflects the ray coming from an object toward the second reflector. The second reflector is placed sufficiently to the inner side of the linear focus of the first reflector. The linear foci of the first and second reflectors intersect with each other at the focus. Accordingly, the linear foci become united at the focus. The combinations of the reflectors and the refractors are optimized in some cases, depending on the applications. The union of the linear foci not at the point but at a suitable face region is sometimes optimum. With a CCD camera, the linear foci are united to the face region. The system is also helpful for amplification of sound waves and the like. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
