A filter is crossed by a flow of air driven in particular by a blower. The filter is made at least partially of a material rich in proteins, impregnated with an active catalytic agent. The material is based on an aminated acid ester containing metallic salts and is made as a non-woven material. The material includes keratin fibres or a combination of different fibres. An active carbon filter is placed in the filter to act as an intermediate accumulator. A filter with the filter effect resting on photocatalysis or and/or a plasmachemical transportation is mounted in combination with the filter, downstream of it in the direction of air flow. An independent claim is included for a filter assembly containing a particle filter and a second filter according to the description above, and/or a third filter which is an activated carbon filter and a fourth filter which is photocatalytic or plasmachemical. An independent claim is included for using a filter or filter assembly as described in a car heating and/or air conditioning system and/or ventilation system, or in a filter mask.
