PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data communication system for realizing the reduction in communication traffic in data communication and realizing high speed communication. SOLUTION: A data communication function table relating to communication functions is shared between devices. Whether a communication device can operate in an autonomous communication mode or request/response communication mode can be therefore determined, the transmission data type can be determined, the number of data and the data identification information can be acquired, and data can be divided to an optimum size for transmission.
