PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress discoloration of the front plate and/or the rear plate for a plasma display panel. SOLUTION: The plasma display panel is equipped with a front side substrate 3, having a display electrode 7 composed of a scanning electrode 5 and a sustaining electrode 6 and a rear side substrate 11 having an address electrode 12, and has a dielectric region 4 between the display electrode 7 and the front side substrate 3 and/or between the address electrode 12 and the rear side substrate 11; and the dielectric constant of this dielectric region 4 is 4-7.5.
