摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the direction and a position of an object on the basis of image data provided from an imaging means, without interrupting periodic motion for the movement such as walking operation. SOLUTION: This mobile robot has a body, a moving means connected to the body and moving the body by making a periodic or aperiodic repetitive motion, and the imaging means 21 for imaging and outputting a front image in the moving direction of the body as image data. The mobile robot has an image data taking-in means 51 for taking in the image data in the predetermined phase timing in the repetitive motion, and a position detecting means 53 for detecting the position of the object in the image by processing the image data taken in by the image data taking-in means 51.
