<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reflector, a light source device and a projection type display device in which light is converted into heat and efficiently dissipated, stress-strain caused by differences in the thermal expansion coefficients of respective parts are eased to suppress performance deterioration, and costs, size and weight can be reduced. <P>SOLUTION: In the reflector, a concave mirror substrate 1 is constituted of a large-thermal-conductivity base material such as aluminum. An infrared heat conversion layer 2 is film-formed by anodizing the base material such as aluminum to absorb light in a wavelength region passing through a visible light reflection layer 4 and convert the light into heat. A gloss buffering layer 3 is film-formed on the inside (surface on the light source side) of the infrared heat conversion layer 2 by burning Si-based resin or polyimide-based resin at high temperatures to thereby buffer the infrared ray heat conversion layer 2 and the visible light reflection layer 4 so that the layers 2 and 4 do not touch directly, reduce the influence of ruggedness produced on the infrared ray heat conversion layer 2, and smooth the light source side surface of the visible light reflection layer 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
