PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that control accuracy of the amount of suction air may be deteriorated because the lift curves are varied according to the engine speed in a lift operation angle variable mechanism capable of changing the valve lift amount and the operation angle of the suction air valve continuously and at the same time. SOLUTION: The operation angle target value of the suction air valve is calculated according to a target suction air amount calculated based on required torque (S11-S13). Upon calculating an operation angle command value, the operation target value is corrected according to the engine speed (S14).
