PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a muffler for quickly drain condensed water generated inside of the muffler, even if ribs are formed along a circumferential direction of the outer shell. SOLUTION: The muffler 10 has outer plates 26, 28 respectively connected with the middle parts of an inlet pipe and an outlet pipe 24, and a cylindrical outer shell 30 for supporting each of the outer plates 26, 28. Energy of exhaust is decreased in the muffler 10 to reduce exhaust noise. The ribs 34 are disposed to the outer shell 30 to project along the circumferential direction of the outer shell 30. A rib 36 is disposed to a bottom surface of the outer shell so that the rib 36 has a part at a lowest level in gravity direction to correspond to an opening end of the outlet pipe 24.
