PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector provided with a trapezoidal distortion correcting means capable of preventing adjustment exceeding an adjustable limit by previously setting the adjusting limit of an image processing LSI for the output video of the display unit of the projector. SOLUTION: An image control unit 23 previously stores the inclination angle output value of the projector exceeding the adjusting limit of the image processing LSI when zoom is at a wide end, compares an inclination angle corresponding output value in a vertical and/or horizontal direction which is inputted from an inclination angle output apparatus 30 with the adjusting limit, outputs an alarm and stops the adjustment of the image processing LSI if it exceeds the limit, inputs a projector inclination angle if it does not exceed the limit, inputs a zoom position from a zoom position detector 55 interlocking with a ring gear 54 of a projection lens 21 generates an LSI control parameter, and controls the image processing LSI for projector, thereby modifying an input video 24.
