PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power assist device capable of coping with a slip of a driving shaft. SOLUTION: In this power assist device 10, when tires 25 and 27 disposed on the driving shaft of an actuator 11 slip, the update processing of present position data of a conveyance tool 12 is stopped by a CPU 51. Thus, the shift occurrence between a present position of the conveyance tool 12 recognized by the CPU 51 and the actual present position of the conveyance tool 12 is prevented, and the conveyance tool 12 can be accurately guided to a predetermined place in a vehicle 90 along the shape of a virtual guide GD. An alarm is issued when the slip state occurs, so that a slip preventing measures can be performed quickly by replacement, cleaning, or the like of the tires 25 and 27. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
