<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cellular phone unit capable of allowing a user to recognize a restriction state, in advance, when an additional function is restricted, due to the remaining capacity of a battery being lower than a prescribed level. <P>SOLUTION: The cellular phone unit 30 has a TV viewing function as an additional function. The battery 7 supplies power to each circuit in the cellular phone unit 30. The battery 7 can break the power supply to a tuner 4 by the control of a baseband chip 3. A device 11, for monitoring the residual capacity of the battery, outputs data for indicating the residual capacity of the battery. The base-band chip 3 determines the residual capacity of the battery 7 by reading the data outputted by the device 11 for monitoring the residual capacity of the battery.
