<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an automatic toll collection system permitting efficient passage of vehicles through an entrance and exit gate of a toll road at low costs; and to provide a means capable of easily using the automatic toll collection system also for a motorcycle. <P>SOLUTION: A radio device 4 at a road side which is one of constitutional elements of the automatic toll collection system is arranged on a road side zone of a lane 7 being a passing lane of a vehicle 1 at an entrance and exit of a toll road. The radio device 4 at a road side has an appearance of a fence-like shape, and includes a vehicle detecting antenna 42, an antenna 43 at the road side, and the like. When the vehicle 1 passes by the entrance or exit, these antennas and an air pressure sensor unit arranged on a tire 2 of the vehicle 1 transmit and receive information from the side direction. Further, the radio device 4 at a road side arranged on the exit is connected with a settlement processing center via a network, and transmits toll information to the settlement processing center.
