The ring (6) forms part of the rotor blade mounting and angle adjustment system (4) and lies in a plane at right-angles to the axis (A) of the mast. Each blade (2) has a torsionally-stiff shaft (14), which can bend in the flapping mode, attached to its root and to the ring to adjust its pitch. The shaft is held in a bearing (16) in the ring, and is turned by a lever (18) attached to an actuator (8) pivoted on the top edge of the ring. The shaft is surrounded by a streamlined blade root fairing (12) which may resist bending due to drag on the blade. The joystick (28) is connected to a control box (26) via a data line (24). The pilot's control signal (Sp) is processed in the data box to produce a signal (S) passed to the ring through an inductive coupling (10,20,22).
|
