PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an arm rest device capable of easily adjusting the position thereof with respect to a seat and enhancing appearance by a relatively simple configuration. SOLUTION: A case 12 is tiltably and pivotably supported by a seat. An arm rest 13 is slidably provided on the case 12. A lock mechanism 46 is provided, which can fix the tiltation of the case 12 with respect to the seat at a plurality of angles by allowing the arm rest 13 to slide in the forward direction, and unfixing the tiltation of the case 12 to the seat by allowing the arm rest 13 to slide in the backward direction. The position of the arm rest 13 can be easily adjusted by an operator seated in the seat by a relatively simple configuration. Since an operation lever to adjust a position need not be protruded from the case 12, the appearance of an arm rest device 6 can be enhanced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
