PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric apparatus in which safety is ensured such that the electric apparatus body does not operate even if an unconformable battery pack is loaded. SOLUTION: The electric apparatus has an electric apparatus body 1 arranged to deal with a plurality of battery packs 2 and to be attached with the battery pack 2 removably. The battery pack 2 is provided with a press protrusion 21-28 corresponding to its type and the electric apparatus body 1 comprises switches 31-34 located at the positions corresponding to press protrusions 21-28 indicating a conformable type among the press protrusions 21-28 provided on the battery pack 2 and being pressed by the press protrusions 21-28 when the battery pack 2 is fixed to the electric apparatus body 1, a control section delivering a control command when ON state of the switch 31-34 is detected, and a second switch for turning the circuit connected with a load on in response to the control command.
