PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform maintenance work of a filter without closing pipes on an upstream side and on a downstream side of a filtering apparatus. SOLUTION: In a casing 1 having a flow-in pipe 2 connected to the upstream side pipe and a flow-out pipe 3 connected to the downstream side pipe two filtering chambers 5, 6 which are communicated with the pipes 2, 3 and have filters 4 filtering a fluid are formed. Flow-in ports 5a, 6a of the respective filtering chambers 5, 6 are made to open/close by a butterfly valve 7 provided in the flow-in pipe 2, and flow-out ports 5b, 6b are made to open/close by a rotary valve 8 provided in the flow-out pipe 3. By operating the butterfly valve 7 and rotary valve 8, one of the filtering chambers 5, 6 is isolated from the passage, to allow maintenance work of the filter 4 on the isolated side from the passage, without closing the upstream side and downstream side pipes.
