A support member for a vehicle dashboard is made of two pressed sections forming an air duct and is fitted between the A-members of the vehicle frame. Inlet and outlet ports for the air duct and are reinforced by pressings (8 to 11) applied externally around the ports. Additional reinforcing is provided by internal plates clamped between the edge seams of the two half shells of the support member. The two half shells are made of relatively thin material.
