PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article storage device of a vending machine capable of securely carrying an article out, without defects in carrying multiple articles out, even when quadrangular-sectioned articles, such as PET containers, are stored. SOLUTION: Among quadrangularly-sectioned articles 6 stacked in an article passage 2, a 3rd article 6 from the bottom is put close to the side of an article carry-out device 4 by a 1st segment which is energized by an elastic member 13 and a 2nd segment 18 which is energized by an elastic member 13, and dropped downward in the article passage 2, while abutting against a slanting projection part 15 which is provided to the article carrying-out device 15. Then a 2nd article 6 from the bottom is always arranged at a distance from the article carry-out device 4, and is surely locked by an article lock part 8 of a subordinate flap 10.
